At the end of the year, everyone seems to be scurrying around trying to validate their commitments to their family and friends.

However, the events in my life have taught me that a holiday seasonal gratitude is simply an everyday occurrence.

From the time my grief started, I have witnessed nothing but gratitude from all whom God has placed on my path. Even the trials have led me into golden friendships.

To me, an end-of-year statement is a statement that needs to be conveyed every day. Your support has blessed so many through the programs your contributions make possible.

Much has been said about suicides and challenges within family units. All of us within HIT — our amazing staff, ambassadors, and dedicated directors — know this firsthand.

I was once asked, “How did you come up with fifteen programs that form a hierarchy of needs?”

I was a little taken aback for it seemed evident — we LISTENED to the internal needs of sustaining the deepest feelings of life: to be accepted, to be needed, and to open the door to pay it back.

HIT started that quest by creating a “family,” a place where you are able to trust those around you. That trust cannot be formed unless it comes from the heart.
You are a huge part of that heart. Your support is working each and every day of the year.

Our HIT calendar is filled every day with some program for the veteran/active service member, the spouses/partners and their children. You are the ones who make this happen.

So, it is with a very full and joyous heart that I reach out once again to THANK YOU!
It is an everyday conversation that I have with God, not just this time of year but each predawn morning, thanking God for all your support.

Charity work comes from the heart and you have shown us your heart. May you have the most joyous holiday and may that joy live in your heart throughout your days.
