Heroes In Transition is proud to announce its seventh annual, team-based endurance ruck relay event: Ruck4HIT Cape Cod. A field of up to 20 teams will run 200+miles through all 15 towns on the Cape, from the early morning hours of Friday April 29, 2022 to Saturday afternoon April 30, 2022. The route begins in Bourne and continues to the tip of the Cape in Provincetown. From here, athletes will head back towards the finish line at Cape Cod Coffee in Mashpee Commons. Each athlete will run 2-4 miles at a time with a 10-20 pound rucksack on his/her back as the teams complete the route in relay format, running non-stop until the mission is complete.
Ruck4HIT was created in collaboration with supporters, local veterans and those currently serving to raise awareness and funds for Heroes In Transition, a nonprofit that provides critical assistance to veterans, service members, and military families through a range of programs. As every service member is forced to carry the burden of war during active service and beyond, carrying the rucksack is symbolic of hardships endured and the perseverance required to complete the mission — all in the continuing effort to never leave a fallen comrade behind.
