Families in Transition (FIT)

One of Heroes In Transition’s (HIT) longest running programs, Families In Transition (FIT) Camp launched in the summer of 2013, offering military families the opportunity to experience the healing, nonjudgmental nature of horses in a peaceful setting.

From that first year, the program has grown from one full week to three full weeks a year. It is offered in June, July, and August at Alliance Equestrian Center in Sandwich.

This 5-day camp brings families together in a setting where they experience the therapeutic qualities of horses, while learning how to groom and ride. Families also have a chance to spend time with each other, participate in planned activities, and enjoy wholesome meals.

FIT Camp facilitates connection with other families who support one another through the challenges that come with military life.

This program is free for individuals who are serving and have served our country and their loved ones.
