As Heroes In Transition (HIT) expands its programs, it is seeking volunteers to assist in a variety of roles to deliver services to veterans, active duty military, and military families.
“Volunteering was one of the ways I was able to connect with Heroes In Transition and learn about all the great work they are doing,” said HIT Volunteer Coordinator Lorrie Moran. “Donating one’s time, energy and talents can be an invaluable way to support our work and enable HIT to do even more.”
Those interested in learning about volunteer opportunities at HIT are invited to a Volunteer Breakfast this Friday, September 6, 7:30 to 8:30 AM, at Christ the King Parish Hall at 3 Job’s Fishing Road in Mashpee.
HIT offers an array of services that includes a Canine Co-Pilot Program; equine therapy through its Families In Transition (FIT) Week; financial support; bimonthly outings for military couples, veterans, and military spouses; military family events; a fall couples retreat, fishing charters and more.
Volunteering is one way that HIT is not only able to offer these programs, but strengthen them.
