Whether you’re a Thin Mints fan or Samoas are your go-to fave, we can all agree that the Dennis-Yarmouth Girl Scouts’ recent cookie donation to Heroes In Transition (HIT) was a sweet move.

As it has in the past, the D-Y chapter, led by Service Unit Manager Judy Wilchinsky, donated dozens of their famous cookies to HIT in a gesture that is not only sweet, but is an impactful gift of support and gratitude for our military community.

“Every year during the cookie sale we ask our troops to designate organizations that they would like to donate to,” said Wilchinsky, explaining how HIT was selected.

Through the Girl Scouts’ Cookies For A Cause program, the D-Y chapter recognizes the importance of HIT’s work in assisting our veterans, active service members, and military families across Cape Cod and beyond.

The donation from the D-Y Girl Scouts is about more than just delicious cookies; their donation signifies an organization that cares deeply about our military community. The cookies will be shared at a variety of HIT’s upcoming events, including its Spring Couples Retreat, Ruck4HIT relay race, and Veterans Equine Warrior Weekend, all taking place in April.

As we savor these tasty treats, let’s also savor the partnerships that make our communities strong. Thank you, D-Y Girl Scouts, for your ongoing support of Cape Cod’s and our nation’s heroes!
